Heinz-Harald Frentzen is talking to Arrows and has visited the Formula One team's factory but no offer has been made, the German driver's manager Monte Field said today.

Field said Frentzen was still negotiating with the financially struggling Prost team, who were the German's employers for the last five races of 2001 after he was sacked by Jordan in August.

The manager said he had also spoken to Minardi, who have yet to name a replacement for impressive young Spaniard Fernando Alonso.

Frentzen has won three grands prix in his career and finished third overall with Jordan in 1999 but he has yet to secure a seat for 2002 with most teams' line-ups already confirmed.

Arrows could not confirm the factory visit and Field said the discussions were very informal.

Alain Prost recently said that Frentzen had given his struggling team full backing and was keen to remain a Prost driver for 2002.

Field said that although Frentzen has developed good ties with the team, he had to look for other options in case Prost went out of business.
