A man who took a taxi to rob two north Belfast Chinese takeaways last July and also planned to rob a bar was yesterday jailed for four years.

Darren McCusker (25), originally from the Short Strand, but now of no fixed abode because of threats from paramilitaries, pleaded guilty to snatching more than £300 from the two restaurants.

Belfast Crown Court heard that McCusker aborted the planned raid on a nearby bar.
