Foras na Gaeilge, the body responsible for the promotion of the Irish language throughout Ireland, today confirmed that its Chief Executive, Mr Seosamh Mac Donncha, is to take up a new position in the education sector.
The Chairperson of the board of Foras na Gaeilge, Maighréad Uí Mháirtín, confirmed Mr Mac Donncha's decision to leave the body and thanked him for his commitment and dedication to the organisation.
"Seosamh has successfully steered the organisation through its critical foundation stage since his appointment in 2002," she said.
Mr Mac Donncha, a former Galway hurling star and president of the GAA, will take up his new position in April.
