ULAN BATOR - Thousands of nomads and tens of thousands of their cattle were being evacuated yesterday from pastures devastated by four weeks of huge fires across the steppes of northern Mongolia. The fires have killed 17 people and injured 62, destroying more than 31,000 square miles of forests and pastureland.
