Talks to resolve the dispute between the Seamen's Union of Ireland and Irish Ferries took place at the Labour Relations Commission yesterday.

A spokesman for the company said afterwards that proposals were worked out which were acceptable to both sides. The SUI would now go back to its members with the latest formula to end the dispute.

Irish Ferries has nob closed down its winter continental services between Ireland and France.
