Fears were growing tonight for the safety of three men after their boat went missing off the west coast.
The fishing vessel left Killybegs in Co Donegal on Wednesday bound for Rossaveal in Co Galway, but the alarm was raised earlier today after it failed to make port.
The Coast Guard helicopter and an Air Corps patrol plane searched the 150 mile stretch of coastline but have found nothing.
Conditions last night were poor with strong winds gusting up to gale force eight or nine, the Coast Guard said.
"We've done various checks along the coasts and ports to see if it was in any sheltered bays or anchored but turned up nothing," an officer with Malin Coast Guard said.
"Both aircraft are back at base now and nothing sighted."
The search has been called off for the night and is expected to resume at first light tomorrow.
