Family escapes injury in east Belfast attack

A woman and her children escaped injury early this morning after a car was petrol bombed in east Belfast.

A woman and her children escaped injury early this morning after a car was petrol bombed in east Belfast.

The Vauxhall Vectra was destroyed in the fire in Glenlea Park in the Garnerville area of the city.

A PSNI spokesman said: "It is believed that a window of the car was smashed before the petrol bomb was thrown inside it. A women and her children who were in the nearby house were uninjured."

The spokesman said officers had yet to establish a motive for the attack.
