Washington - The US Freedom House human rights organisation recognised Falun Gong and four other groups on Wednesday night as "defenders of religious rights" in China at a ceremony attended by members of the US Congress.
Winners of the International Religious Freedom Award, given by the group's Centre for Religious Freedom programme, also included The Cardinal Kung Foundation, Friends of the Christian Unregistered Churches, the International Campaign for Tibet and The Uighur-American Association.
