A man served with extradition warrants immediately on his release from Portlaoise Prison last week was granted bail by the High Court yesterday.

Mr Justice Carney granted bail to Mr Andrew Martin (33), from Islandbridge Court, Kilmainham, Dublin, on foot of two independent sureties of £20,000 each and Mr Martin's own surety of £1,000.

The judge directed that Mr Martin reside at Buckingham Village, Buckingham Street, Dublin, and report to Fitzgibbon Garda station daily.

He said Mr Martin should also surrender his passport and not apply for a new one. Mr Martin was released from Portlaoise Prison last Saturday and brought before Dublin District Court where he was remanded in custody on foot of extradition warrants.
