Up to 300 former soldiers of the Ulster Defence Regiment gathered for a service of remembrance in St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast, yesterday to mark the 30th anniversary of the formation of the regiment. In 1992 the UDR was amalgamated with the Royal Irish Rangers to form the Royal Irish Regiment.
