Paris - The Eiffel Tower has attracted six million visitors this year, beating its own record as the world's most popular monument.
The company that manages the 320-metre tower said yesterday that the number of visitors in 1998 had exceeded the almost 110-year-old monument's previous bumper year in 1992, when it drew 5,747,357 people.
