Eight Irish schools have forged links with schools in East Timor as part of an educational project undertaken by the East Timor Ireland Solidarity Campaign.
Students in the schools have exchanged letters, photographs and posters with linked Timorese schools. In many cases the activities were part of students' class projects in civic, social and political education (CSPE - see also page 13). They might also be part of Transition Year or a peace and justice's group's work. A photo exhibit from schools here has toured schools in East Timor.
The project is funded by Ireland Aid through the NCDE and by Concern. For more information e-mail etisc@connect.ie.
