Judo, one of the fastest growing sports in our schools, held its schools' championships in Monkstown CBS, Dublin, recently. Thirty-two schools sent 137 entrants. Overall winner in the boys' under-16 category was Kyohei Ueda of St Andrews, Booterstown, Co Dublin. Stylist of the day in the same category was Abdullah Lelneiham, of Rosmini, Drumcondra, Dublin. The under-16 top player and stylist in the girls' section was Georgina Folan of Lucan Community College, Celbridge, Co Kildare. The overall best school on the day was Lucan Community College, closely followed by St Andrews, and Ashbourne Community College, Co Meath.
