Dundalk chairman Des Denning this afternoon revealed his club has signed ex-Finn Harps and Bohemians striker Alex Nesovic.

Dundalk have been urgently seeking a top quality finisher for the last few weeks, ever since it became obvious the club was going to be embroiled in a fierce relegation battle this season.

Nesovic arrived at Oriel park as a free agent and just in time to take part in tomorrow’s night’s vital clash with fellow-strugglers Longford Town.

"Alex will indeed be available for tomorrow" confirmed Denning, "which is good news because it’s a crucial game, as, of course, all our games will be from now on in because of the position we’ve got ourselves into."

Despite the poor results so far this season, Denning is confident Dundalk can avoid the dreaded drop: "we went through a bad patch and some people’s heads went down. We also had a lot of injuries and suspensions and had to play some players who wouldn’t normally get in the team. But everyone’s back now, and last weekend’s win against Galway has done wonders for us."

Dundalk’s only forced absentee tomorrow will be the suspended Donal Broughan.
