Charges against 32 Afghan men who went on hunger strike in Dublin's St Patrick's Cathedral have been dropped.

Charges against 32 Afghan men who went on hunger strike in Dublin's St Patrick's Cathedral have been dropped.

The charges against the asylum-seekers were dropped by direction of the Director of Public Prosecution.

Judge James Scally issued a bench warrants for two men who did not show up in court this morning.

The men, who were on week-long hunger strike in the cathedral in May, had been charged under Section 3 of the Forcible Entry and Occupation Act 1971.
