A dispute between South Dublin Co Council and local residents over the use of a site as a dump has been resolved, the High Court heard yesterday.

Ms Rosaleen Fitzgerald, secretary of Bohernabreena Residents Association, had sought an order against the council over the dumping of waste at a tip head at Friars town. It was claimed the council opened the dump last July for the deposit of domestic, commercial and industrial waste.

Under terms presented to the High Court, the council has undertaken to cease all dumping of waste at Friarstown Tiphead by July 31st, 1997.
