Dart and Luas services were running with delays in Dublin this morning.
Northbound and southbound Dart and train services were delayed by up to 20 minutes for most of the morning due to a problem at the Merrion Gates junction near Booterstown.
A spokesman said normal services would resume within the hour.
Luas red line services were also disrupted earlier this morning as a result of a technical fault on a tram at Cookstown, which stopped services for around 30 minutes between Belgard and Tallaght.
A spokeswoman said the line was now “fully operational” and apologised to commuters for the inconvenience.
Iarnród Éireann was forced to suspend train services from Waterford to Kilkenny city and Waterford to Carrick-on-Suir in Co Tipperary after flooding at Waterford station.
A bus transfer has been put in place to accommodate people travelling between Waterford and Kilkenny and Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir, it said.
