Man (24) arrested after failed armed robbery in Dublin

Suspect entered business on Lombard Street East armed with knife on Saturday morning

Gardaí have arrested a man following an armed robbery in Dublin’s south inner city earlier this morning.

The man, aged 24, had entered a business premises armed with a knife in the Lombard Street East area of Dublin 2 at approximately 9am.

He then attempted to flee the scene on foot with a quantity of stolen cash, but was caught by Gardaí following a brief struggle.

He is currently being held at nearby Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
