The Special Criminal Court will rule next Tuesday on the admissibility of alleged admissions made by a Belfast man accused of murdering of a garda in Dublin 18 years ago. The court has heard that Mr Sean Hughes (42) was arrested in May 1997 in Co Mayo in connection with a bank robbery. Gardai have alleged that during questioning about the robbery Mr Hughes made verbal admissions relating to his part in the murder of Garda Patrick Reynolds.
