The Supreme Court has granted Dublin criminal Martin Foley an order directing gardaí to give evidence in oral examination about what debts, if any, the State owes to protected witness Charles Bowden.

Foley had sought the order in his continuing attempt to get payment of a £120,000 award for damages made to him arising from an incident where he was shot in the lung.

Bowden previously admitted procuring the weapon for the assault during proceedings in the Special Criminal Court.
