London - The estranged wife of the British Foreign Secretary, Mr Robin Cook, attempted yesterday to end the stories and speculation that have surrounded their breakup. Mrs Margaret Cook described as "trivial" stories in the press about Mr Cook's relationship with his lover, Ms Gaynor Regan. She appealed to the press to let them live their lives in peace, stressing that she had reached an "amicable settlement" in the divorce.
