Contaminated heroin which killed eight drug abusers last year may be on sale in Dublin again, health authorities have warned. The warnings followed an alert from Britain that the contaminated heroin might be on sale there.

The director of public health of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, Dr Brian O'Herlihy, said drug-users should seek immediate medical help if they notice any unusual signs, particularly abscesses.
