A Dublin man who told gardaí that he used cocaine found in his possession as a "pick-me-up" has been sentenced to 120 hours of community service by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Anthony Kelly (27), Knocklyon Gate, Knocklyon pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine to the value of €1,900 at Drimnagh Road, Drimnagh on November 10th, 2009.

Remy Farrell, prosecuting, told the court that it was Farrell's behaviour in a Drimnagh pub which drew him to the attention of gardaí.

After his arrest for possession of 27 grams of cocaine, Farrell told gardaí that he was a heavy user of the drug.
