Detectives investigating the attempted murder of a Catholic teenager in north Belfast believe they have found the car used in the incident.

John Campbell (16) was stabbed in the neck and back as he walked along Glantane Drive in the Skegoniel area of the city on Thursday night. He remains critically ill in hospital.

According to reports a man got out of a passing car and stabbed the youth several times before heading off. Police believe the attack was sectarian.

They have appealed for help in tracing the movements of a white Rover car which was found burned out yesterday morning in Clanmorris Street.
