The Christian Brothers Congregation has asked the High Court for an order to stop the Laffoy Commission into Child Abuse publishing the names of dead members of the Order against whom allegations of abuse have been made.

Some 700 allegations are pending against serving, former or deceased Brothers.

The Laffoy Commission is headed by Miss Justice Mary Laffoy, the Minister for Education and the Attorney General.
