Legal proceedings by the French/German helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter arising from its failure to secure a tender to supply helicopters to the State have been settled at the High Court.

The settlement comes after the Government’s decision not to proceed with awarding the tender for five search and rescue/transport helicopters worth €100 million to Sikorsky.

Eurocopter, one of the three unsuccessful bidders, had sought a judicial review of the decision in the High Court.

When the case came up for mention this afternoon, Mr John Rogers SC said the matter had been settled without any further order and he asked that the matter be struck out.
