It allows students to put their theoretical knowledge into practise, giving them real-life situations to deal with such as completing a household budget. Practical demonstrations show students hopw to deal with online or ATM banking.
Business Studies Interactivecovers topics limnked to the economics and the accounts sections of the Junior Certificate syllabus, including banking, budgeting, taxes, foreign exchange, consumer rights and bookkeeping.
Commenting at the launch, Mr Cowen said: "Without a basic knowledge and understanding of money matters people can find themselves at a distinct disadvantage when trying to make personal finance decisions throughout the course of their lives. This tool can be used in the school or by families at home and should help equip students with the level of knowledge that will help them as they move toward increased personal independence."
