The man charged with raping the girl at the centre of the C case was again remanded when he appeared in Kilmainham District Court yesterday. The 24-year-old father of three is charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 15 years old on August 27th.

His solicitor, Mr Terence Hanahoe, applied for bail but Det Sgt Gerry Kelly objected on the grounds that he believed the injured party and her family would be intimidated.

He added that the accused man had an address in Belfast but no permanent address in this jurisdiction. Judge Gillian Hussey remanded him in custody to December 12th.
