The Irish Coast Guard has warned the public not to approach any unfamiliar objects on the north-east coastline after a device was discovered on the shoreline at Greenore, Co. Louth.

The device was described as yellow and about one-foot long. It was emitting smoke. The Coast Guard said the sighting of any unusual objects on the shoreline should be reported to the Marine Emergency on the 999 telephone line.
