BRITISH army bomb disposal experts will today carry out a detailed examination of suspicious objects found near Cullyhanna, in south Armagh, writes Gerry Moriarty in Belfast.
The security alert began on Thursday after a British army RUC joint patrol found oil cans and drums with wires leading from them in a derelict building outside the village which is close to the Border with Co Monaghan.
It is understood that the objects may have been in the building for some time.
A British army bomb squad will today determine if a bomb was being assembled in the building.
Meanwhile, British army bomb experts were also called out yesterday to deal with a suspect vehicle in south Belfast.
They carried out four controlled explosions on the car which was parked near the Rosetta Bar.
The vehicle was believed by police to have been used in an armed robbery in the city before Christians.
Nothing was found in the vehicle.
