Investigations are under way after a body was found in Co Donegal yesterday.
Two women out walking made the discovery in the townland of Ballyrattan, near Redcastle, on the shores of Lough Foyle at about 4pm.
Gardaí sealed off the area, and forensic experts are attending the scene. According to Garda sources, the body was so badly decomposed, they are not sure if it is that of a man or a woman. It may take take several days, or even weeks, before it can be identified.
The body has been removed to Letterkenny General Hospital for a postmortem. Gardaí and the PSNI are checking records for missing people on both sides of the Border.
