Bell nomination is accepted

Former BBC war correspondent, Mr Martin Bell, had his nomination to fight Tory Mr Neil Hamilton in the Tatton constituency accepted yesterday, despite his description of himself as an "independent". An objection by Mr Hamilton, who described Mr Bell as a stooge of the Labour Party with Liberal Democrat support, was rejected by the returning officer.
