Beamish & Crawford is investing €7 million at the Beamish Brewery in Cork on a new state-of-the-art bottling facility.

The bottling plant will replace the existing line, which dates back to 1963. The new line will be commissioned by the beginning of November 2002.

Beamish & Crawford is now the only brewery in the Republic of Ireland with a bottling facility and, unlike its competition, all of its key lager, stout and ale brands in Ireland are exclusively brewed and packaged in this market, a spokesman said.

The existing bottling line has a production capacity of 180 bottles per minute, but the new line will run at 500 bottles per minute.
