Beirut - Five people were killed and 13 were injured when a five-storey block of flats collapsed in a Beirut suburb, civil defence officials said yesterday, warning that the toll could rise further.
Rescue workers were continuing the search though the rubble of the building - home to 33 people - which collapsed in the eastern Beirut suburb of Kahhala on Saturday. Initial reports said three people had been killed.
