A big haul of cash and cheques was stolen in an armed robbery in Newry yesterday. Two men armed with handguns, one wearing a balaclava, robbed a sports shop at Cornmarket after threatening the assistant. The pair escaped in the assistant manager's black Nissan car. No one was injured in the incident.
