Anglers wishing to fish for salmon on the Moy fishery should apply to the Moy Fishery Office in Ballina before the end of January, when allocations will be made for the season.
The Central Fisheries Board has stopped using traps on the Moy fishery until May 15th to conserve stocks of spring salmon, prized for their superior size and availability as a tourist attraction.
