LEINSTER RUGBY fans hoping to travel to Edinburgh to see their team take on Leicester in the Heineken Cup final later this month face air fares up to 10 times higher than normal and limited hotel availability.

The 14th Heineken cup final takes place at Murrayfield on Saturday May 23rd, with kick-off at 5pm.

While a return flight from Dublin to Edinburgh with Ryanair the weekend before the match will set travellers back €54.51, the cost of flying out on Friday May 22nd and returning on Sunday May 24th is €562.87.

With Aer Lingus, return flights for the weekend of May 15th-17th cost €100.41, but soar to €480.41 the following weekend.

Hotel accommodation may also be difficult to come by. While booking websites such as needahotel.com do list availability in the city for the weekend, others such as booking.com say there are no rooms that weekend within 40km of the city centre.

The public sale allocation of 52,000 tickets to the match, available through Scottish Rugby and Ticketmaster, sold out weeks ago.

However, 15,000 more were retained to be divided among fans of the two finalist teams.
