Action on £2.5m fish plant settled

A High Court action over a proposed £2.5 million fish-processing plant at Fanad, Co Donegal, has been settled

A High Court action over a proposed £2.5 million fish-processing plant at Fanad, Co Donegal, has been settled. Mr Justice Quirke was yesterday asked to quash a decision of Donegal County Council of July 30th, 1998, to extend for one year the life of the planning permission for the project.

The plant is being built at Rinmore Point by Bradan (Maoil Rua) Teoranta. The proceedings were taken by Mr Tony Lowes, a member of An Taisce's governing body.

When the hearing was due to resume yesterday, Mr Edward Walsh SC, for Mr Lowes, said the matter had been resolved between the parties and the only order required was to strike it out.
