Aberdeen admit they will have to "take stock" on the proposed transfer of Richie Foran after the Shelbourne forward was reportedly kicked out of the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.

Foran is alleged to have a broken a curfew with the Under-21 players after impressing Dons manager Ebbe Skovdahl on trial towards the end of the season.

Skovdahl, who is currently away on holiday, had hoped to bring the striker to Pittodrie in a Stg£100,000 deal but is considering his options.

"It is just a case of trying to find out exactly what went on and take a raincheck on it," said a Pittodrie spokesman.

"With Ebbe being abroad it will be a couple of days before anything is decided.

"Ebbe is aware of what is happening but we are trying to find out exactly what the story is from the Irish FA and then we will decide.

"At the moment, things are still ongoing but we will have to take stock of the situation depending on how serious the alleged incident was."
