OSLO - Old soldiers never die, so Gyda Kaland did not flinch when she got her army call-up papers last week: it was, after all, only a few months past her 98th birthday.
Mrs Kaland, a great-grandmother eight times over, found herself on the army reserve list after buying a new tractor last summer for her farm near the west-coast town of Bergen. "Of course I'll be there if they need me," she told Bergens Tidende newspaper.
