Twenty two men and one woman faced charges in Belfast yesterday arising out of disturbances at an Apprentice Boys parade on the Lower Ormeau Road last August.

Most of the defendants were accused of riotous behaviour and other charges included assaults on police and malicious wounding. All the cases were adjourned until July 23rd and the defendants were remanded on continuing bail.

A small number of Sinn Fein demonstrators staged a picket outside the court.
