Detectives investigating the murder of the human rights solicitor Ms Rosemary Nelson are questioning a man and a woman in their 30s, who were arrested in an RUC raid on a house in Hamiltonsbawn, Co Armagh, earlier this week.
Two guns and ammunition were found during a search of the house. The arrest is the first in connection with the murder of Ms Nelson, who died when a booby-trap bomb exploded under her car in Lurgan on March 15th last year. The dissident loyalist terror group, the Red Hand Defenders, later said it had carried out the attack.
A total of 65 police officers, 45 of whom come from outside the North, are investigating Ms Nelson's murder. Speaking at the beginning of the inquiry, Mr Colin Port said he was confident that Ms Nelson's killers would be caught.
