185th anniversary of the organisation, whose survey of Ireland in 1846 was the world’s first large-scale mapping of an entire country. The agency is holding open days next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, when hourly guided tours between 10.30am and 3.30pm will take visitors through the centre, to learn about survey methods through its history. Visitors will also receive a commemorative map. See osi.ie.
