Robert Ballagh, Felim Egan and Guggi, along with Belgium-based figurative painter Pat Harris, are each donating a set of 100 signed and numbered prints (some of which are pictured above) to help fund an Irish ship which will join an aid flotilla for the people of Gaza next month.
The situation in Egypt may impact on plans, but Felim Egan also hopes to join the crew, which will include the travel writer Dervla Murphy and a number of politicians, including Chris Andrews, Aengus Ó Snodaigh and People Before Profit councillor Richard Boyd Barrett. The prints, on handmade paper, are all highly covetable. They’re available from irishart4gaza.com for €250 unframed (€300 framed) with a €100 discount for anyone who buys all four. Another fundraising effort will take place in March, when more works by a larger group of artists will be auctioned to help support the ship.
