Grand Sport Vitesse sets new world speed record for an open-top production car

A Bugatti production car has set the new world speed record for an open-top production car, with a top speed of 408.84 km/h (254mph).

The Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse was driven by Chinese racing driver Anthony Lius at the Volswagen Group's proving grounds in Ehra-Lessien in south-east Germany.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse has been on the market since the spring of 2012. It’s powered by a 8 litre W16 engine, which putting out over 1,200 bhp with a torque of 1,500 Nm at 3,000 to 5,000 rpm.
