2020 could be a bit of a make-or-break year for the Irish motor trade. With Brexit still rumbling along, imports will continue to be a major part of the market, putting pressure on both used values (which affects trade-in) and thus new sales. Will the new NOX tax stall imports? Will electric sales continue to climb, or will the still-underfed charging network cause them to stall? Will diesel sales stage a recovery, as some anticipate?
Most important of all; which car will you buy this year? To help you decide, we’ve put together our annual list of our 100 favourite cars currently on the market. It’s a combination of objective assessment and sheer gut feeling, so consider it a start, rather than an end, of your shopping list, but anything here is going to be a good buy, we reckon, no matter what your budget.
Enjoy shopping. Enjoy driving.
