JENNIFER GAHAN AND Scott Dosch were married recently in St Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Sandymount, Dublin, by Fr Denis Ryan, a friend of the bride’s family.

Jennifer, from Templeogue, Co Dublin, is the eldest daughter of Margaret and Jim Gahan. Her sister Audrey acted as maid of honour. She attended Presentation Secondary School in Terenure and went on to study property economics at the Dublin Institute of Technology in Bolton Street. She now works as general manager of the Irish Property and Facility Management Association in Wilton Place.

Scott Dosch is from Dallas, Texas. He is the son of Larnell and Charles Dosch, a retired pilot who flew with Braniff International. His older brother Keith served as his best man, and he has two sisters, Kelli and Melinda. Scott studied aerospace engineering at Delta State University in Mississippi and now works as a pilot, flying a corporate jet for a family in San Francisco. He spends his downtime in Ballsbridge, Dublin, where the couple live. He is a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team, not least because his cousin, Wade Phillips, is their head coach.

The couple first met in 1997 on a flight to Stockholm. Scott was a pilot for the Irish charter airline TransAer at the time, and Jennifer was working as an air hostess for a year. They became engaged in October 2008. Their reception at the Radisson St Helen’s Hotel in Stillorgan, was watched on Skype by Scott’s parents in Dallas, as they were unable to travel to Ireland for the wedding. However, there was a contingent of 15 American guests who had travelled from Los Angeles, Florida, New York and Maryland. The couple spent their honeymoon in Rome, followed by a trip to Dallas to visit the groom’s parents.
