202 homes for Goatstown RoadSorohan Builders is looking to build over 200 dwellings on lands adjoining its 220-unit Trimbleston development on the Goatstown Road in Dublin 14 which was launched earlier this year. This would involve knocking five habitable houses on the Goatstown Road - numbers 103, 105, 107, 109 and 111.

The proposal is to build 184 apartments in three blocks rising to five storeys, as well as 18 four-bed semi-detached houses and terraced houses on the 2.07-hectare site.

Affordable housing plan opposed

A scheme of 97 affordable housing units at Harold's Grange Road by Woodbridge Developments in Dublin 18 has been opposed by locals.

Pine Valley Residents Association is among five appellants to An Bord Pleanála and says the five-storey building would be a serious intrusion on the landscape of the area and would dominate the mountain skyline. It says it is grossly out of proportion with houses in the area and it, along with other developments in progress and in the pipeline on Harold's Grange Road, will put pressure on the inadequate road infrastructure.

156 homes planned for D15

Developer RQB (Diswellstown) is looking to build 156 apartments and houses, and a crèche on a 6.58-hectare portion of the grounds of Diswellstown House in Dublin 15, a protected structure. The proposed development will comprise 96 apartments in four blocks over basement car-parking, 47 four-bed houses and seven three-bed houses within the walled garden.

The conversion of the outbuildings will involve demolishing the barn, glasshouses and sheds adjoining the north side of the walled garden. The proposed development also includes reducing and redefining the curtilage of Diswellstown House and relocating the entrance gates and piers to the western end of the avenue. The developer, whose directors are Declan Cassidy, David Kelly, Paul Pardy and James McDonnell, is looking to build a 274sq m (2,949sq ft) crèche and a 31sq m (334sq ft) garden store. There would also be minor realignment of Luttrellstown Road and a new granite wall along the eastern boundary. There are no works proposed to Diswellstown House - it will remain as a residence.
