TESCO is to be anchor tenant in a new shopping centre planned for Carlow town. Northern Ireland developer Gerard O'Hare is to build the £25 million complex on a 9.5-acre site acquired from Leinster Marts Ltd. There will be a second anchor tenant and 17 unit shops. Mr O'Hare has also developed shopping facilities in Wexford, Waterford and Newry. Local agents George Sothern says that there are five or six department groups interested in taking the second large store.
