Spacious with a high-spec

Castleknock: from €1

Castleknock: from €1.625m A show house opens this week to coincide with the final phase of a high-spec scheme of detached houses near Castleknock village.

Hooke & MacDonald is releasing four large five-bedroom detached homes at Park Manor off the Carpenterstown Road in Dublin 15. Prices start at €1.625 million for 208sq m (2,240sq ft) homes and go up to €1.775 million.

These new homes are the last stage of a 24-unit scheme first launched in 2001. The houses have three reception rooms, a good-sized utility room, five double bedrooms and two family bathrooms.

Kildare-based builder Nyanstone and Paul Mealy architects have built impressive homes with sturdy redbrick frontages, tiled roofs and canopy porches, brick back sheds and landscaped gardens. Inside, there is a traditional lay-out with two interconnecting reception rooms running the length of the house. A bay window with recessed lighting looks out to the front while the back reception room has patio doors to a good-sized garden.

The kitchen has oak-fitted units, granite worktops and a large island. A utility room off the kitchen has lots of storage in Shaker-style units. A guest toilet and a study or second livingroom to the front of the house complete the downstairs layout.

Upstairs are five double bedrooms, all have fitted wardrobes. The main bedroom has an en suite with a window and a walk-in wardrobe. Also upstairs is a shower room and a family bathroom.

Interiors are finished to a high-spec, with oak doors, ceiling coving and custom-designed kitchens. The fit-out includes underfloor heating on the ground floor, recessed lighting in the main living areas and heated towel rails in the bathrooms.
